The Wound Care Center in the Department of Surgery at NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island is seeking a General, Plastic, or Vascular Surgeon to join our Wound Care Center team. The successful candidate will possess outstanding clinical skills, a strong interest in education and research, and must qualify for a faculty appointment at New York University Long Island School of Medicine (NYULISOM).
Responsibilities include assessment, evaluation, and treatment of patients, specifically those with acute and/or chronic wounds, ostomy management and education as well as management of fistulae, tubes, skin, and incontinence issues. Works in conjunction with physicians, nursing staff and ancillary staff to evaluate, propose, plan and perform patient assessment and treatments.
The Wound Care Physician oversees inpatient, outpatient wound services and the hyperbaric oxygen treatment. Perform teaching and quality control for the wound services and function as member of team to review wound services performance, policies and initiatives.

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island is the main campus for the NYU Long Island School of Medicine, one of the few tuition free and three year medical schools in the US. It is the site of several training and academic programs including Internal Medicine, Urology, Orthopedics, Radiology, and of course General Surgery. We have previously served as the rotation site for senior and junior residents of Stony Brook University School of Medicine Surgery program, a clear indication of the vast operative experience.

Salary range for position is $330,000—$350,000.
The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual salary may not fall within the listed salary range; consideration will be made for experience, training, hospital/community need, and other factors.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Board Certified/Eligible in General Surgery or respective Specialty
* HBO (Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment) Certified with Broad and in-depth technical knowledge and skills related to the practice of medicine, and wound care.
