Transforming the Care of Complex Wounds
1.0 nursing contact hour*

DESCRIPTION:
Keri Mullins, RN, BSN, is an experienced nursing executive with expertise in acute care and long term acute care settings.  She appreciates each facility's role within the continuum of care, and the importance of understanding staff capabilities when considering the admission of patients with highly complex wounds. Keri recommends a zero compromise treatment approach for these highly complex patients in order to prevent hospital readmissions and transition patients to the next level of care.

Keri will share the treatment plans that were implemented for patients with highly complex wounds which resulted in positive clinical outcomes in a seven patient case series. The case series includes the following difficult to heal wound types:
1. Necrotizing Fasciitis
